Our pigs are the only animals that are not born on the farm, but we buy in weaners from 2 local farms. They are the traditional Landrace x Large White or the Saddleback x Large White breeds; and we feed them on our own home-grown ground barley and milk from the dairy. The resulting flavour of our pork is quite simply out of this world!
We also dry-cure our own gammon and bacon, and can offer genuine traditionally oak-smoked bacon too
Typically a pork box contains (guide price £50 -£70)
- 2 x 1.4kg leg joints – boned & rolled (b&r)
- 1 x 1.5kg shoulder (spare rib) joint – b&r
- 1 x 1.3kg belly joint – on the bone, b&r, or thick rashers
- 10 x loin chops
- 2.5kg diced pork (in 0.5kg servings), or home-made sausages
- 1 x 1.6kg 'hand' roasting joint on-bone or b&r
- Tenderloin fillet may also be available
- Liver & kidney may also be available
